Collier Jr. 48 (24 human years) Lacaille Fire / Heat manipulation Nick Bateman | [attr="class","stayrubrik"]Stay with me tonight [attr="class","stayscroll"]titles have preceded ezra wherever he's gone, much to his great disdain. if he wasn't known for throwing hands with the other fairies on the playground, he was known for turning up the next day beaten and bruised-- and he'd still bite his tongue, unwilling to tell anyone his father's fists delivered the blows. it was way cooler for his peers to think he'd gotten into a street fight, anyway. he's the pastor's son and knew no other life than his ordinary existence. he wasn't special in any way, didn't have a sordid upbringing, and he spent all his spare time in the church pews, listening to his father's sermons. everything changed when his mother grew ill; she died, and his father became unhinged in his grief, often dragging his son out of bed to beat him senseless. disgrace and living sin were the two things spat at him the most, his senior's loving eyes now vacant of warmth. the abuse continued for years-- and only got worse when ezra's powers manifested. unbeknownst to him, during his parents' attempts to conceive a child, his mother had an affair with another man when it became clear ezra sr could not produce children. the man she slept with happened to be a fire fairy, which according to ezra sr were the worst of their kind, as the fire within them represented the gods' wish to cleanse their childrens' souls. ezra's powers flared as a result of the extended duress he endured, fighting back against his father, but the abuse just got worse. after a few years of his rebellion, the collier men found themselves guests to the pyxis palace. here, ezra met crown princess aela sutcliffe, and he attempted to protect her from her own father and his abuse. this landed him, for the very first time, in jail. king iki and ezra sr made a deal that his young, volatile son would be consigned to the royal guard, where he could be shaped into a man worthy of renown. that is not what happened. ezra rutherford collier jr, captain of the queen's guard, scourge of the velan police, is a firecracker armed with a fatal wit and disarming charm. he can be highly self-destructive due to the years of abuse he suffered-- from his father, then by his superiors in the guard-- and has a tendency to self-harm when he's stressed, depressed, or just plain bored, as the sensation feels very familiar and comforting. he's known to those close to him as impulsive, intolerant, and irreverent, whereas strangers only see the surface and his smooth way with words. despite this, ezra is loyal down to the bone. he fears nothing in this life other than being alone. currently, in the aftermath of a fight with aela after she discovered him sleeping with her husband, king cassian rotherhithe, ezra has left pyxis and the palace behind. he spent time in vela, nyre, and is now traveling via boat with his old friend mars and his crew, despite his notorious seasickness making it a very unpleasant voyage. childhood abuse- nostalgic meeting aela - nostalgic meeting mars - achromatic affair with aela - nostalgic (18+, complete) affair with cassian - achromatic(18+, complete) date with aela - nostalgic (complete) spring gala - nostalgic, achromatic (complete) goodbye to cassian - achromatic (complete) reuniting with mars - achromatic (complete) meeting rose - nostalgic ahoy, me hearties! - pirate gang gang |
