Cold, harsh, and uninviting is Northfern. The island is overwhelmingly populated by ice fairies, the only ones able to naturally withstand the freezing temperatures and desolate landscape. While Northfern city is well-mannered and regulated, the pine forests outside its limits are wild and ruthless.
Apart from pine trees and cold-suited shrubs, not much grows in this frozen land. Animals are thick-furred, including polar bears, hares, foxes, and ferrets. As a result, not much is grown here- inhabitants eat a lot of meat and some imported produce.

Cold year-round, with biting winds and a permanent layer of snow. During the summer months, the sun never sets, and during the winter months, it never rises. It's a difficult adjustment to live here, unless you were born and raised on Northfern island.

Northfern city is a fishing city, even during the cold winter months. All around the northern border is the pine forest, which is dark and foreboding. Northfern is rumored to have an assassin training school within the city, but it has never been discovered by authorities. The oldest fairy documents are kept here, in the Northfern library.

YAKOV WESTERGARD

Yakov Westergard is on the surface, very charming and naturally charismatic. His presences is surprisingly warm despite his rather chilly and intimidating outward appearance. He is quite spirited and boisterous in the ways he communicates only adding to his infectious charms. Despite his bright deposition, he is quite calculating in his actions and choices of words and tones. He is quite manipulative with those who come in his path but thanks to his shroud of charming appeal, many don't realize their trapped status until it is too late. Don't let his controlled personality fool you, Yakov has a fierce and dangerous temper though it is rarely on display, especially on the world stage. Yakov often strives for more power, never content with what he has.

Grantham is extremely smart, and clean cut- he thinks in a calculated and concise manner. He is very well spoken, using good manners and always standing up straight; it has been instilled in him to be a people pleaser, so he if comes off as quite rigid, he’s probably just waiting to be told what to do. He will also only speak when spoken to first, this can make him seem stuffy or prude to many fairies- but it is simply in his nature.
He is a very stoic Ice Fairy and doesn’t let his emotions get in the way when getting down to business, so he can be very reliable in that aspect. Grant can become quite withdrawn when it comes to his feelings outside of his coordinated, business-like mindset, as he has trained himself not to get flustered or distracted by most insignificant things- therefore he doesn’t tend to dwell on them, or really examine how they make him feel. He is always ready to make important decisions should they arise, and truly does his best to make informed and honest choices when working. He is often considered boring by others due to this, and also because he finds joy in less extravagant activities like chess, reading, and self regimented work outs.
Having grown up alone, he’s only had his own face to look at more than anyone else’s, and because of all this solitary time he’s obsessed with his looks. He is constantly making sure he’s clean and kept at all times, and compulsively checking his looks in reflections whenever he can. He’s a handsome young man, and knows it too- it is the one thing that manages to draw his attention away from his focuses; should he have a hair out of place or a stain on his shirt, it becomes of immediate importance for him to fix it.
Highly dedicated and self motivated, it has become a personal goal of his to be of absolute immaculacy when pursuing something in his life- be it a job, or even a hobby, and now more recently the Queen. However he’s a bit unsure on how to talk to women, and so he’s found himself trying hard not to let the thought of actually courting the Queen pull at his mind; particularly considering he may not be as prepared as he wants to be for it. Seeing as he had never looked into the subject of wooing the opposite sex before, for he had never met any girls that could pull his eyes away from his studies before.

Impeccably dressed, suave and flattering, flirtatious and seductive. Elise knows how to irresistible, and this earns her her success in the field.
Her other side is the cut-throat, unsympathetic young woman that she is underneath her smooth exterior. Elise will do whatever it takes to rise in life- sleep with whoever, flatter whoever, squash her weaker competition under her pretty little heel. Meet her in the hallways of the Umbra headquarters, and she's a closed-off, sarcastic presence. Elise learned to suppress her moral compass long ago, and she knows how competitive this industry is. She makes herself invaluable to her superiors, and watches over those under her like a hawk, a perfectionist and a hardass. Elise was used enough in her childhood, and she now lives to prove to herself and the world that she drives her own success.
